Six members of Saline County Career Center DECA chapter recently attented the Ultimate DECA Power Trip held November 21-23, at Crystal Marriott Conference Center in Arlington, Virginia.

The SCCC students who attended the conference included Vanesa Cortes, Allison Gary, Heidi Jimenez, Cheyann Norman, Peyton Marshall, and Mattie Weaver along with their advisor, Kerry Henley.

The Ultimate DECA Power Trip provided students with a dynamic experience through interactive Learning Labs, each focusing on key components such as college, career, and networking. Attendees engaged in DECA role-plays to hone competitive skills, with top performers recognized at the Closing Session. The event also featured College + Career Exhibits for exploring educational and career opportunities, and a “DECA After Dark” networking event for making valuable connections.

While attending the conference, students had an opportunity to visit Washington D.C. where they received a private tour of the United States Capital. During this visit they were able to observe The House of Representatives voting on current legislation. Throughout the conference students were able to visit several national monuments as well.
