The Marshall Police Department is seeking information concerning multiple acts of vandalism reported at former school buildings.
According to the department, police have responded to a number of break-ins at the former Southeast Elementary School and Northwest Elementary School. Over the weekend, a break-in reported at the Northwest School resulted in extensive property damage, ranging from shattered windows and boarded-up windows being torn down to flooding. Investigators are treating the case as felony vandalism, but have not yet determined a clear motive.
Marshall Police encourage anyone who has information, witnessed suspicious activity, or may have security camera footage from near either building, to contact the MPD at 660-886-7411. They can also e-mail the department at info@marshallpolice.com.
Both buildings were sold by Marshall Public Schools after ceasing operation, with Southeast purchased by Best Life Properties in 2023, while the Marshall Saline Development Corporation completed its purchase of Northwest earlier this year.
