Terry Jordan has resigned as the Mayor of Slater.

City Administrator Gene Griffith tells KMMO News that Jordan submitted his letter Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, stating that his resignation was effective immediately. Griffith says Jason Weiker will serve as mayor pro tem.

Jordan’s resignation followed a tense city council meeting Tuesday night where multiple residents expressed disapproval over his decision to submit a letter of support on city letterhead for Brian Fischer, the dentist who pleaded guilty in July to charges of stalking and witness tampering.  Jordan became mayor in July 2023, following the death of longtime mayor Dr Steven Allegri, and was re-elected to a full two-year term in April 2024.
