The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the delay of two bridge replacement projects in Linn County.

MoDOT says the bridges, one carrying Route 139 over Parson Creek north of Meadville and the other carrying Routes 11 and 129 over Badger Creek north of New Boston, will now begin January 6th. The two bridges, both of which are over 90 years old, had been slated to close this Monday, but contractor schedule changes have resulted in the delay. Both replacement spans are now projected to open in May.

This bridge is among 31 in MoDOT’s Northwest Bridge Bundle, which had identified bridges across seven counties in poor condition for replacement or rehabilitation. The design-build team of Capital Paving and Horner & Shifrin won the bid to complete the projects over the course of two years. The full list of bridges and a progress tracker on each is posted on MoDOT’s website.
