You needed Rudolph’s red nose to get around Central Missouri the morning of Tuesday, Dec. 23, as dense fog blanketed our region ahead of a Christmas that could see record high temperatures.
Meteorologist Allan Curtis with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill explains the dense fog advisory that several counties south of the Missouri River are under until 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Curtis says the heat that brought in this (Tuesday) morning’s fog will stick around for much of the holiday week.
Curtis notes that Thursday’s forecasted highs in the upper 60s could break the record set in 1922.
Curtis adds that temperatures are expected to return to their normal range in the mid-to-upper 30s by Sunday.
