
Margaret Deloris Brownfield, 90, of Marshall, died Friday, December 26, 2025 at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Slater United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Sisney officiating. Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery, with Zach Brownfield, Alex Brownfield, Carson Knowles, Jared Scott, Brian Hammonds, and Wesley Ryther serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 until 11 A.M. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Gilliam Cemetery in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born September 4, 1935 in Maryville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Fareda Gifford Blacketer. On December 21, 1962 in Slater, she married Leroy Brownfield, Jr., and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1994.
She is survived by three sons, Francis Brownfield and his wife Danette of Polo, John Brownfield and his wife Saundra of Slater, Charles “Chuck” Brownfield and his wife Mandy of Slater; two daughters, Maxine Mullins and her husband David of Marshall and Fareda Gallagher of Emporia, Kansas; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Blacketer; a grandson in infancy; three brothers; and two sisters.
Mrs. Brownfield was a member of the Gilliam Baptist Church. She was retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center, where she worked as a Developmental Assistant ll. She had lived in Gilliam for many years before moving to Marshall.
