Sparks Avenue in Moberly is back open Thursday, Jan. 1 after a water main break that occurred during routine maintenance.
Crews with the city’s water office responded to the break as they were dealing with another nearby water main break. Residents in the northern part of the city may have experienced a loss of water pressure as crews worked to fix both breaks and restore normal service. As a result, customers on U.S. Route 24 from Emerson to Route JJ, along with the 700 block of Route 24, and 1500 and 1600 blocks of Robertson, and surrounding areas, are under a boil advisory for the next 48 hours. Any customers who experienced a loss of water service or low water pressure are advised to bring water intended for consumption to a boil for three minutes and allowed to cool before drinking.
Any Moberly customers with questions about the advisories can call the city’s water office at 660-263-4420.
