Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Director Conner Swift spoke to KMMO News about a recent grant award from the Buckner Foundation, as well as an idea for more grant opportunities in the county.

Swift announced that MSDC received a $50,000 grant from the Buckner Foundation during its recent board meeting on January 13th. Swift says he isn’t able to go into detail about the specific purpose for the funds, but does note that the grant will be used for MSDC’s childcare efforts.

 

Swift also said he’s been in contact county officials and business owners regarding a Downtown Revitalization Grant through the Missouri Department of Economic Development. This grant would primarily be used for structural upgrades to buildings on the Marshall Square. Swift says he’s been encouraging the county and business owners in Downtown Marshall to partner up and apply for the grant.

 

MSDC’s Board next meets on Tuesday, February 10.
