Crews updating the City of Brunswick’s wastewater system are close to completing their work.

City clerk Sarah Clubine tells KMMO News that Bennett Incorporated is close to finishing their work on the city’s collection lines, while work on the treatment plant should wrap up by March. Both updates were provided to the city council during their Jan. 20 meeting.

Also last week, the council learned that their annual application for the TRIM grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources was approved. Clubine says that Brunswick was able to hire RW Tree to complete about eight thousand dollars worth of tree trimming work last year that was supported by the grant, which requires a 25 percent cash match from the city.

Clubine adds that the council is expected to continue discussions on potential improvements to City Hall and a possible increase in the mayor’s annual salary when the Brunswick City Council next meets Tuesday, Feb. 17.
