
The death toll from Tuesday’s residential fire in Fayette has risen to three.
According to the Fayette/Howard County Fire Department, crews were called to a structure fire Tuesday, Jan. 27 around 6:40 a.m. on Villers Drive in Fayette. Firefighters say the house, identified as an assisted-care facility, was fully involved in flame upon their arrival. Six people were reportedly in the home at the time of the blaze. Crews were able to knock the fire down within two hours with mutual aid from Glasgow’s fire district. The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is now investigating the cause of the fire.

One fatality has been confirmed after a residential fire on Villers Drive in Fayette on Tuesday, January 27th.
Fayette City Administrator Deanna Cooper says firefighting personnel from the Fayette and Glasgow Fire Departments arrived at the scene on 204 Villers Drive at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. A total of six people were reportedly in the home at the time of the fire, with one confirmed death and two residents still unaccounted for at this time.
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control at around 8 a.m. The incident is currently under investigation.
