teen-dating-violence-awareness-month

The Pettis County Commission, alongside City of Sedalia Mayor Andrew Dawson, has proclaimed February as “Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.” The proclamation aims to recognize the serious impact teen dating violence has on the health, safety, and well-being of youth in the community.

The proclamation emphasizes the importance of awareness, prevention education, and community involvement, while also recognizing the vital work of CASA (Citizens Against Spouse Abuse) in supporting survivors and promoting healthy, respectful relationships.

“Teen dating violence is often overlooked, but it can have lasting effects on young people,” said Presiding Commissioner Bill Taylor. “This proclamation encourages our community to learn the warning signs and take an active role in prevention.”

The Pettis County Commission encourages residents to observe Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month by supporting prevention efforts and helping foster a community free from violence.
