The Marshall Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works approved a Common Facilities Agreement with the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission for items used in the Marshall Energy Center project.

The agreement was considered by the board during its Thursday morning meeting. It includes the Miami Substation switchgear, diesel tanks, and access to those facilities. The agreement also proposes that the Utility Commission purchases MMU’s diesel fuel inventory and manages that inventory moving forward.

The agreement was approved by the board and will now need authorization from the Marshall City Council at its next meeting on Tuesday, February 17th.

In other news, the board approved a change order totaling $6,494 from Beerman Heating and Cooling following the completion of the heating boiler replacement at the Recycle Center. This is the second change order approved for the project, adding almost $11,000 to the original bid price of $36,017. The change order was approved with a 2-1 vote, with Chuck Hines voting against. The board then approved repairs to the MMU Natural Gas line in the amount of $66,000, and made a motion to negotiate with TNT Underground to complete conduit installation at the Marshall Junction.

The board’s next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 25th.
