Friday, Feb. 13 is the deadline for interested high school sophomores to submit their applications to the Missouri State High School Activities Association for a two-year term on their Student Advisory Committee.

The committee formed in 2024 and features 10 juniors and 10 seniors from across the state, selected at the end of their sophomore year to serve two-year terms. Halle Fuemmeler of Glasgow has spent the past two years on the panel as an at-large representative. As the senior’s time on the committee comes to a close, she reflected on one of the priorities they identified when they first gathered.

Fuemmeler added that the committee also addressed mental health as a priority. She has this advice for any students who may want to pursue a spot on the panel:

Fuemmeler also credited her time on MSHSAA’s Student Advisory Committee for developing a new appreciation for her participation in basketball, softball, and track. The committee is expected to have their next meeting in April.
