It’ll be a busy Tuesday for Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton and her office’s staff, as not only will absentee voting begin for the April 7 municipal election, but filing for August’s primary election will also open.

Burton says her office will open Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8:00 a.m. to begin receiving paperwork from candidates seeking to represent their party on November’s general election ballot.

Offices in Saline County that will appear on the ballot this August and November are as follows:

  • Associate Circuit Judge, Division 5
  • Associate Circuit Judge, Division 6
  • County Auditor
  • Circuit Clerk
  • Collector
  • County Clerk
  • Presiding Commissioner
  • Prosecuting Attorney
  • Recorder of Deeds
  • Township/Ward Committeemen
  • Township/Ward Committeewomen

Meanwhile, absentee voting begins Tuesday for voters who wish to state an excuse for being unable to make it to the polls April 7. No-excuse absentee voting will begin March 24.

Also Tuesday, the Saline County Commission will have their regular session at 11 a.m.  Commissioners moved their session up a day because of the annual meeting of the state’s county commissioner association that begins Wednesday at the Lake of the Ozarks.
