The City of Marshall will have its second public forum Thursday, March 5 concerning the proposed half-cent transportation sales tax that voters will consider next month.
First Ward Councilman Drew Green of the municipal services committee is expected to lead the presentation on the city’s reasons for putting the measure before voters April 7. A forum two weeks ago drew a dozen people who spent just over an hour asking questions about the proposal and how the city plans to prioritize street projects during the three years the tax would be in effect. Tonight’s forum begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at the city office building in Marshall. The city notes in a public meeting notice that a quorum of city council members may be present at the forum.
