Students from three area high schools will make their way through the Saline County Courthouse on Friday, March 6 for the county’s annual Government Day tour.
The tour of county offices and visits with elected officials, which dates back over seven decades, is organized by the Malta Bend American Legion Memorial Post 558. Adjutant Steve Olson previews the day’s schedule.
.
Olson says that the tour usually happens in March to coincide with the American Legion’s emphasis on government during the month. He reflects on the decades that Legion members across the county have organized Government Day.
Students will begin their tour at 9 a.m. After lunch at Missouri Valley College, students will then tour the Saline County Justice Center.
