A 29-year-old Missouri Valley College student is facing a drug charge in Saline County after allegedly being caught with a large quantity of controlled substances in a dorm room on March 6th.
Marshall Police were called to a dormitory room on MVC’s campus at 11:30 p.m. to investigate a possible overdose. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the only occupant in the room, Claudio Santos, who denied any medical emergency.
While in the room, officers observed various bags of what appeared to be controlled substances, containing loose pills with various coloration and markings. Authorities recovered a zip top clear plastic bag containing 331 loose pills of Alprazolam, which is a Schedule 4 drug. Officers also found numerous loose foil packs of prescription pills outside of the prescription container, including some not approved for use in the United States.
Santos has been charged with a felony for delivery of a controlled substance with a $50,000 cash-only bond. No court appearances have been scheduled at this time.
