The Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Board of Directors approved donations to two organizations at the Saline County Career Center to fund travel expenses.

After some discussion during the its meeting Tuesday morning, the board voted to donate $1,000 to both SCCC’s FBLA and DECA chapters to help cover the expenses for students heading to the state and national competitions. MSDC Director Conner Swift says the corporation was eager to provide support for organizations that create future entrepreneurs.

In other action from Tuesday’s meeting, Swift provided an update on a project to fix drainage issues on a lot owned by Bayer in the city of Marshall. Swift says Great River Engineering was expected to have the design work complete by December, but there were some unexpected delays in the process.

Due to the delay, MSDC now plans to begin on-site work in November to avoid interfering with Bayer’s operations during the summer.

The board plans to open bidding in July. The board’s next meeting is set for Tuesday, April 14th.
