The spring baseball season has arrived and the Marshall Owls are opening it up with a series of home contests next week.
The Owls, who are hoping to improve on a 2-21 season in 2025, will host Richmond on March 19th and then Tipton and Chillicothe for a triangular on March 21st. Marshall Head Baseball Coach Ian Verts tells KMMO Sports that his players already have a lot of experience playing together after forming a summer team together over the summer.
The Owls are returning a core of seniors, including Brody Kueker, Brock Marshall, Chase Thompson, and Caleb Wagner. The team also returns several other key starters around the diamond, including Ayson Bolling, Jamar Edward, Myer Klinge, and Kye Wilcoxson. Verts reflected on some of Marshall’s shortcomings from last season and explained how his coaching staff is addressing those issues in 2026.
Marshall is hosting Lexington and Carrollton for a jamboree on Saturday, March 14th. In addition to the team’s regular season action, the Owls will play in the Panther Classic March 26-28 and host the Marshall Baseball Tournament April 17-18.
