A number of city councils and boards of aldermen are gathering Monday, Mar. 16, with several items potentially resulting in heated discussion amid the wintry chill.
A work session is scheduled for the Marshall City Council at 5 p.m., with discussions planned on a real estate transfer agreement, along with continued discussion on a proposed ordinance regarding fees for inspections and third-party reviews of building plans. Both topics are not on the agenda for the regular city council meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening.
Elsewhere, the Sedalia City Council will consider adoption of their budget for Fiscal Year 2027, as well as final budget amendments for the current fiscal year budget, when they meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. The council will also consider their latest five-year capital improvement plan, a fourth change order for the project repairing the Washington Street Bridge, and adding another sanitation cart option for senior citizens, allowing them to use two 65-gallon carts at the same rate as one 95-gallon cart. A public hearing providing an update on the Midtown and West 50 tax incremental financing districts will open tonight’s meeting.
The Boonville City Council will give second reading to ordinances amending water and wastewater rates, and consider their budget for the next fiscal year, when they meet Monday at 7 p.m. Second reading is also planned for ordinances amending agreements for state block grants funding improvements at the Jesse Viertel Memorial Airport.
Also scheduled for Monday are the Concordia Board of Aldermen at 5 p.m., along with the Carrollton Town Council, Higginsville Board of Aldermen, and Moberly City Council at 6 p.m.
