The Concordia R-2 School District Board of Education has named Jeremy Covey as the district’s next superintendent.

Covey currently serves as the Director of Real World Learning & College and Career Readiness at the Center School District in Kansas City. He has more than 14 years of experience in school administration and 26 years in education overall, bringing extensive leadership experience as a secondary principal and second grade teacher. He also serves as adjunct faculty for the William Woods Educational Leadership program teaching graduate courses in administration, supervision, and evaluation.

Current Superintendent Dr. Theresa Christian says she believes Covey is the right fit for the district and the community.

 

Covey is certified in K-12 special education, elementary and secondary administration, K-12 physical education and health, and elementary instruction. Christian says she’ll be working with Covey during the next few months to begin the transition process.

 

Christian will become the next Superintendent for the Lafayette County C-1 School District this summer. Covey will begin serving the Concordia R-2 School District on July 1, 2026.
