
Dwight James Mikels, 79, of Marshall, MO, died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Riddle and William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Born July 20, 1946, in St. Louis, MO, Dwight was the son of the late Joseph Price Mikels and Vivian Bess Fielden Mikels. He had lived in Saline County all of his life and was a 1965 graduate of Marshall High School. On March 30, 1966, he married his high school sweetheart that he dated for two years, Joann Morrow, and she survives of the home. Dwight served in the United States Army from January 19, 1966, until he was honorably discharged on January 18, 1968. His career was spent as a truck driver, with 34 of those years working at Hahn & Phillips, as well as being a skilled mechanic. Dwight was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Joann; he is survived by three children, Jeffrey Mikels (Mona), Kevin Mikels (Maggie), and Dana McNelly (Micheal), all of Marshall; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Williams of Collinsville, OK, and Kenneth Williams of Owasso, OK; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Thelma Rae Williams, Nelda Hayes, and Margaret Kathleen Mullins; and two brothers, Emmit Williams and George Williams.
