
A number of parents and supporters of recreational baseball in Sweet Springs are looking to see improvements take place at the big ball diamond at the city’s park.
Proposed improvements to the field were discussed at the Board of Aldermen meeting Apr. 13, according to Mayor Rick Clemens.

The list of repairs presented to the board included the bathrooms and concession building, estimated at $6000, and needing a new water line run to the field. Aldermen did accept the lone bid for marking and dragging at the ball fields. Ron Shahan submitted the bid totaling $1800.
In other business, aldermen tabled a decision on repairs to the roof at city hall, as only one bid was received. According to preliminary minutes from the meeting, second ward alderman Trey Schleicher said he’d like to see bids for replacing the roof rather than repairing it.
