Crews in the City of Moberly are hard at work cleaning up after severe storms rolled through the area Monday morning.

Community Relations Manager Scott McGarvey says the storm knocked down many trees and power lines, leading to street closures and power outages in the city.

McGarvey says crews were able to begin cleanup efforts Monday afternoon after the storm let up. He notes that crews are continuing to remove debris and restore infrastructure.

The city has currently closed McKinsey Street between Monroe and Mckinley Avenue at this time. McGarvey says the city’s yard waste drop off location is available for residents throughout the week. Any yard waste up to ten feet long and six inches in diameter or smaller can be accepted.
