Carrollton High School is preparing to welcome as many as 1,000 spectators and competitors for district track and field tournaments in Classes 1 and 2.

Carrollton is hosting both the Class 1 District 4 and Class 2 District 7 tournaments beginning Saturday, May 9. Superintendent Dr. Tinna Croy says the district has done a lot to prepare for the event, including coordinating with law enforcement and local businesses.

Field events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and running events will start at 9. The district brought in extra bleachers for spectators and has set up barricades as well. Croy says many visitors will need to park several blocks away from the track, but notes that there will be people in golf carts shuttling visitors to and from the track.

Croy notes there will also be special handicap parking sections on campus. She encourages anyone with questions to speak with administrators or school officials at the meet. Results from Saturday’s meet can be found on the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s website.
