A driver from Texas sustained moderate injury when his vehicle was struck from behind on a Morgan County highway Monday, May 11.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the 54-year-old man was slowing in his car as he attempted to turn left from the northbound lane of Route 5 onto Route 135 in Laurie. Troopers say that at around 4:15 p.m., an SUV driven by a 26-year-old from Versailles struck the car in the rear. The Texas driver was taken to a Lake Ozark hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, while no injuries were reported for the driver from Versailles.

Troopers noted that the SUV was insured by Midwest Public Risk, a not-for-profit risk pool that handles the insurance needs of local governments across Missouri and Kansas.
