Construction on a new Love’s Travel Stop at the Marshall Junction in Saline County is now officially underway as crews work to have the new location open by this fall.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site Tuesday morning. The Saline County Commission and representatives from the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation joined Love’s Real Estate Project Manager Barbara Peck for the ceremony. Peck says the Junction was a perfect place to expand and serve travelers on Interstate-70 and Highway 65.

 

Site Superintendent Michael Chiepalich says the plan is to have the new travel stop open by this October.

 

Crews with Datum Commercial Contracting are currently working to prepare the site for construction.
