A pair of Concordia FFA students were recognized by the district’s Board of Education during its meeting on Wednesday, May 13.

Superintendent Theresa Christian says the board was proud to recognize the efforts of Morgan Nelson and Ryan Freund Wednesday night. She notes that Nelson becomes just the second Concordia FFA member to serve on the state officer team, while Freund won the Missouri State FFA Proficiency Award in Dairy Production Placement, advancing him to nationals.

 

The 99th National FFA Convention & Expo will be held October 21-24 in Indianapolis. The board also recognized its State Olympiad Medalists Gus Luetjen and Stevi Powers.

In other news, board had to authorize insurance claim work for repairs at Concordia High School, which was struck by lightning in storms earlier this spring.

 

The Board of Education also approved adjustments to the extra duty salary schedule, changes to the 2026-2027 employee manual, and the 26-27 student parent handbooks.
