Area high-school students built some “animal houses” for a project and donated the structures to a local animal shelter in an effort to help keep man’s best friend warm this winter.
According to a news release, Saline County Career Center’s Building Trades students have donated three dog houses to the Marshall Animal Shelter. The students were tasked with building small structural projects throughout the school year to gain experience in the building trade career pathway.
The building of dog houses have been student projects over the past couple of years.
Director of Saline County Career Center Mitch Holder said each dog house cost $200 and are solid structures that can house a good sized dog.
