A traffic stop last year provided law enforcement the names of two Sedalia residents who allegedly were involving in the distribution of heroin in Pettis County.
According to a probable-cause statement, on September 18, 2017, Sedalia Police officers spoke with a person who was arrested for alleged heroin possession during a traffic stop, where the arrested subject identified the alleged dealers as 47-year-old Kenneth McGee and 27-year-old Tuesday Sparks.
During an investigation, Sedalia Police officers with assistance from the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and Highway Patrol, reportedly executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of East 4th Street, where McGee and Sparks allegedly distributed the heroin. Law-enforcement personnel reportedly found 2.3 grams of heroin, various drug-distribution paraphernalia and a controlled prescription medication not prescribed to either of the subjects. Also, a search warrant reportedly was served at McGee and Spark’s residence in the 4300 block of McVey Road, where heroin, methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia allegedly was found.
Online court documents says McGee and Sparks each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid. Also, McGee was charged with two counts, and Sparks with one count of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Sparks also was charged with a Class A Felony for Distribution of a Controlled Substance in a Protected Location. Cash or surety bond for Sparks was set at $125,000, and $75,000 for McGee.
Each defendant’s initial hearing at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia is pending.
