Two Sedalia residents allegedly involved in the distribution of heroin last year, appeared for court dates recently, where one of the accused is scheduled to appear for another hearing this week in Pettis County.
Online court documents say 47-year-old Kenneth McGee and 27-year-old Tuesday Sparks, each appeared in custody via video for arraignment hearings on Monday, January 22. Sparks’s cause was continued for a bond-reduction and attorney-status hearings at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, where McGee’s cause was continued for an attorney-status hearing at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 23. Each proceeding is scheduled to be held at Pettis County Circuit Court in Sedalia.
Online court documents says McGee and Sparks each has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid. Also, McGee was charged with two counts, and Sparks with one count of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Sparks also was charged with a Class A Felony for Distribution of a Controlled Substance in a Protected Location. Cash or surety bond for Sparks was set at $125,000, and $75,000 for McGee.
Each of McGee and Sparks’s charges arose after a probable-cause statement said on September 18, 2017, Sedalia Police officers spoke with a person who was arrested for alleged heroin possession during a traffic stop, where the arrested subject identified the alleged dealers as McGee and Sparks. An investigation by Sedalia Police officers with assistance from the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and Highway Patrol, reportedly executed a search warrant at two residences where McGee and Sparks allegedly distributed the heroin. Law enforcement reportedly found various drug-distribution paraphernalia, heroin and other controlled substances.
