Marshall Booster Club Vice President Ellen Lance couldn’t be on hand, so Marshall Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher updated the school board on the progress of fundraising and the renovation of the high school gymnasium during its meeting on Tuesday, January 23.
Dr. Maher said the booster club is only $5,000 short of its $216,000 fundraising goal.

No action was taken on the latter request. If approved at a later date, Dr. Maher said the understanding is that the company that will be hauling away the bleachers will own them.
The booster club also asked that all of the walls in the gymnasium be cleared so painting can begin on May 28. The gym floor is scheduled to be done toward the end of June, but the booster club is waiting on a vector file of the logo which will be painted on the floor.
In other news, during executive session, the board voted to approve the reemployment of Special Services Director Terri Porter, Director of Curriculum Instruction Diane Gillaspie each for one year and Assistant Superintendent of Business Operations Dr. Terry Lorenz for three years at their current pay. The board also held its annual evaluation of the superintendent and voted to void the current contract and issue a new three-year contract for Dr. Maher at her current salary.
