A Marshall man has reported being the victim of identity theft.
According to a report from the Marshall Police Department, the alleged victim reported that a fraudulent account was set up in his name with Comcast in Independence.
The report says the account reportedly was opened on July 12, 2017, using the man’s name and social-security number. The registered address receiving benefits from the account is 10001 East 10th Street in Independence. A total amount owed to Comcast in the man’s name is $444.69.
The man reportedly has contacted Comcast and reportedly has submitted an affidavit in regards to a third party utilizing his identity to create an account. The alleged victim reportedly is willing to assist in prosecution if an arrest is made.
