A Boonville man has been charged with several felonies after an alleged burglary incident in Cooper County on Thursday, February 22.
A probable-cause statement says just after 2 a.m., Boonville Police officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of East Morgan Street.
Upon arrival, a female victim was outside the residence and reportedly was noticed to be covered in mud while holding her head. The victim stated 31-year-old Antonio Lamont Jones allegedly entered the residence through a window, came into her bedroom, began to punch the wall and made threats toward her. The victim said Jones agreed to leave if she would take him to a friend’s house, and while in the victim’s car, Jones reportedly grabbed her purse and began to yell. The victim stated she exited the vehicle to call the police when Jones reportedly grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the ground causing a head injury. Officers eventually located Jones who reportedly was noticed to be intoxicated and was in possession of the victim’s credit cards and work ID.
Online court documents says Jones has been charged with a Class B Felony for First-Degree Burglary; a Class E Felony of Third-Degree Domestic Assault; a Class D Felony for Stealing; and a misdemeanor for peace disturbance. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Jones’ initial hearing at Cooper County Circuit Court in Boonville is pending.
