A Deepwater man has been charged with a felony after he allegedly shot a woman during a incident in Henry County on Thursday, April 12.
According to a post on the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, at about 7:30 p.m., deputies with assistance from Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Sixth Street in Deepwater regarding a disturbance involving gunshots being fired.
Upon arrival, law enforcement reportedly noticed a female victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the lower part of her left leg. The female victim reportedly was treated at the scene, and then transported by air ambulance to a Kansas City area hospital for emergency treatment. 36-year-old Jesse Raybourn (left) reportedly was taken into custody as he allegedly discharged two shells from a 20-gauge shotgun which was found at the scene. Authorities reportedly determined a verbal confrontation between Raybourn and the victim escalated into a physical disturbance, which eventually ended as the victim sustained a single gunshot wound.
Online court documents say Raybourn has been charged with a Class A Felony for First-Degree Domestic Assault Causing Serious Physical Injury. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety.
Raybourn’s initial hearing at Henry County Circuit Court is pending.
