Saline County Sheriff Cindi Mullins was at the meeting of the county commission on Thursday, April 19, and asked commissioners to approve some emergency work being done at the jail facility.
Mullins said it involves some HVAC units.

Mullins estimated the cost for both of them to be about $32,000, and she said one needs to be moved.

Mullins said the units are original to the building, making them more than 20 years old.
Since it is an emergency, commissioners pointed out the project does not have to be put out for bid. They approved Mullins’ request to get everything arranged and get the work done. She said she will get a local vendor for the job.
In other news, Mullins said work on the control board is coming along. She estimated the board should be completely operational within the next couple of weeks.
