A Glasgow man has been charged with a drug-related felony for allegedly being in possession of a controlled substance in Cooper County.
A probable-cause statement says authorities were called to Dollar General in Boonville on May 1 to investigate the report of a male and female acting suspiciously.
Officers reportedly contacted the two individuals inside the store, and the man reportedly told them he was in possession of a knife. When they attempted to retrieve the knife, the man reportedly became rigid and looked like he was going to attempt to run. During a search of the man, authorities found a clear baggie containing 7.2 grams of methamphetamine in his left front pocket. Other drug paraphernalia also reportedly was found in a back pack.
According to online court documents, a warrant has been issued and 29-year-old Patrick Bryant Marshall has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Marshall’s initial appearance at Cooper County Circuit Court is pending.
