Most of the taxes received for the month of May were down as reported by Saline County Treasurer Marty Smith at the meeting of the county commission on Thursday, May 10.
Smith first gave the update on the sales-tax proceeds received.

Smith also gave updates on two other taxes received.

In other news from the meeting, the commissioners OK’d a request from the city of Marshall for the Marshall Municipal Band to use the courthouse grounds on Thursday evenings throughout the summer months to conduct concerts. And clerk Debbie Russell reported an annual workers’-compensation audit for the county conducted on Friday, May 4, went well.
