The MMU Board of Public Works gave approval to continue an electrical project and increase the budget for tree trimming during its meeting on Thursday, May 17.
Electric Distribution Director Jeff Bergstrom said a project which began last year of converting overhead electrical lines to underground in residential areas has had some delays.

Bergstrom said this year’s electrical conversion project is scheduled in the area of South Miami and South Benton Avenues, from Crestwood to North Lake Drives.
In other business, Bergstrom said this year’s tree-trimming budget needs to be increase to have the contracted crew finish up a current project and help out another department.

The board approved the $50,000 increase to the tree-trimming budget.
