Two Sweet Springs residents suffered injuries in a three-vehicle traffic crash on westbound I-70 in Saline County on Tuesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a Nissan Rogue, driven by 26-year-old Andrew Blattner, of Manhattan, Kan., reportedly overtook and struck the rear of an International tractor trailer, driven by 21-year-old Jorge Tobar, of Marshall. Then a Buick, driven by 71-year-old David Jacobs, of Sweet Springs, reportedly struck Blattner’s vehicle.
While Blattner and Tobar reportedly weren’t injured, Jacobs sustained minor injuries and a passenger in his vehicle, 94-year-old Dorothy Knipmeyer, suffered moderate injuries. They were transported by Saline County E.M.S. to I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs for treatment.
