A senior at Marshall High School spoke to an audience at the Missouri School Board Association’s Leadership Summit on June 2.
According to a news release, Jacob Hall talked about Marshall’s nationally-recognized FFA program.
In October, the National FFA Organization awarded Marshall FFA the Model of Excellence award, the highest honor awarded to a high school FFA chapter, for its “Welding Our Future Together” program. This program was created to encourage and inspire students interested in agricultural construction careers and included welding workshops, a tour of the Missouri Welding Institute, tutoring for the scholarship competition as well as guided practice from a trade school instructor.
In addition to this program, Marshall FFA works toward kindness with “I Believe” packages and coloring for agriculture and upholds the National FFA Organization standards of leadership, personal growth and career success.
Hall will serve as the Area 6 FFA President for the 2018-19 school year. Hall represented the Marshall FFA chapter team that delivered the award-winning presentation at the 2017 National FFA Convention for the Model of Excellence award, which distinguishes the Marshall FFA chapter as the No. 1 FFA chapter in the nation.
Marshall Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said in a statement, “We are very proud of Jacob and the entire Marshall FFA family. They represent what our district strives to give to students – success, confidence and caring.”
