The Marshall woman accused of an alleged arson incident last month has a court date scheduled this week in Saline County.
Online court documents say Tammy Jo Leonhardt has been charged with Class D Felonies for Second-Degree Arson and Burglary, as well as misdemeanors for stealing and property damage. A probable-cause statement says Leonhardt was seen on video surveillance using a hammer to access a cash register to steal $92 and then left the Lighthouse Shelter Thrift Store in Marshall on May 23. Leonhart reportedly admitted to stealing the money and returning to the business to destroy the cameras, but added she couldn’t disable them, so she started the fire inside a closet.
Online court documents also say Leonheart appeared for an arraignment hearing and advised the court she was to seek council from the public defender on May 30. She did not enter any plea during the proceeding.
Leonhardt is scheduled to appear for a case hearing at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at Saline County Circuit Court.
