A resident of the state of California has been sentenced to spend the next two decades in the Missouri Department of Corrections.
According to a post on Lafayette County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Ellis Hilbrenner’s Facebook page, charges were brought after a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 53-year-old Rhonda Stewart, of Sunland, California. During a consented search of the vehicle, the trooper located approximately 116 grams of methamphetamine, 29 grams of marijuana seeds, a small amount of marijuana and glass pipes.
Stewart pleaded guilty to the Class A Felony of Trafficking a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree on April 16, 2018. The 20-year sentence was handed down by the court on June 4.
