An area police department is making residents aware of some fake money being used.
According to an announcement on its Facebook page, the Sedalia Police Department has seen a recent influx in counterfeit $20, $50 and $100 bills. The bills that are being passed have what appears to be Chinese writing on front and back. They also have lines across one of the corners of the bills, both front and back.
The bills are not legal tender, and it is a crime to pass one as such.
