The Saline County Health Department Board of Trustees heard progress reports on several projects during its meeting on Tuesday, June 26.
Administrator Tara Brewer said a community garden was recently started and is beginning to develop produce despite some issues.
Brewer said the small gardens were established to help provide the community with fresh produce as pumpkins and zucchinis were planted this year to see how the project goes.
In other business, Brewer said an outdoor walking track, which was recently opened, may have a formal grand opening scheduled later this summer.
In other business, Brewer said the addition of parking lot on the north side of the health department building was recently finished, which added about 15 parking spaces for patrons.
