During the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, August 20, Ward 1 Councilman Dewey Henrdix said MoDOT’s Railroad Safety Department has contacted the city about a project that has been ongoing for at least a decade.
Hendrix said the city could get railroad crossings upgraded to enhance the safety.
Hendrix said this will not cost the city a dime.
Hendrix said if anybody has any ideas, let council members know. He said the council will be issuing a public statement so residents can come in and talk during the next couple of meetings.
The next council meeting has been pushed back a day to Tuesday, September 4, due to Labor Day on Monday, September 3.
