An ongoing roadwork project is scheduled to continue this week in Cooper County.
According to MoDOT, bridge replacement is underway on Highway 87 over I-70. The bridge is closed, but all exit and entrance ramps connecting to I-70 remain open. Steven Kole Court will be closed to traffic due to work south of I-70, where motorists will be detoured over a temporary bypass to Klinton Drive.
Also continuing this week, the eastbound I-70 entrance and exit ramps, the south portion of Highway 87 and Nancy Potter Road are scheduled to be closed for approximately two weeks, as the ramps and roadway are tied into the new bridge.
Occasional overnight lane closures are possible on I-70 for construction of the new bridge, and the project scheduled for completion by sometime in November.
Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.
A roadwork project is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, October 3. Pavement patching is scheduled on Highway 87, between I-70 and Route J, with the work scheduled to last through Thursday, October 11.
One lane will be open, and a crew will flag traffic through the work area.
All work is weather permitting.
