A Sedalia resident suffered fatal injuries in a traffic crash in Pettis County on Sunday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 23-year-old Caleb Stathem, reportedly overcorrected his southbound vehicle, which had traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The vehicle began to skid and rotate, crossed over the southbound lanes, the grass median and the northbound lanes, struck another guardrail and ejected the driver, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt.
Stathem was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dr. Thomas Condor.
The crash happened just after 1:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 65, north of Route BB.
