Homer Henry Becker, 87, of Concordia, MO, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at The Lutheran Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia.  Burial with full military rites will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church- Growing By Grace, Saint Paul Lutheran High School, or The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born August 10, 1929 in rural Concordia, he was the son of the late Henry Louis Becker and Hulda Nierman Becker.  On August 10, 1952 he married Rose Steffens who survives of the home, and this marriage was blessed with two sons.  Homer had lived in the Concordia area his entire life where he was a farmer and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He was an active member of the community his entire life serving with many organizations and on many boards.  Some of those include: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Voters Assembly where he served on all boards, co-chairman of St. Paul’s Sesquicentennial Committee, St. Paul’s Men’s Club, Lutheran Laymen’s League, Saint Paul Lutheran High Historical Society Committee, 4-H Leader, Lafayette County 4-H fair board, Concordia Farmers Co-op Board, Concordia Special Road District Commissioner, and American Legion Post 258.  Homer served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged.

In addition to his wife, Rose; he is survived by two sons, Michael Becker and wife Beverly of North Olmstead, OH, and Gerald Becker and wife Jacqueline of Memphis, TN; six grandchildren: Kyle Becker and wife Nikki, Brandon Becker, Courtney Arnett and husband Austin, Kevin Becker, Haley Boswell and husband Joshua, and Amy Becker; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Becker and wife Rosemary of Independence; one sister, Verna Lohman of Blue Springs; a sister-in-law, Ruth Becker of Concordia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Norbert Becker; and two sisters, Florence (in infancy), and Elva Beerman.
