A.J. “Poodle” Utlaut, age 87, of Marshall, died Friday, October 26, 2018.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, at First Christian Church in Marshall, where visitation begins at 1 p.m. Inurnment, with military rites, will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Grand Pass.

Memorials may be made to Saline Animal League or First Christian Church, in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.

In addition to his wife, Barb; he is survived by two daughters, Donna Thompson and her companion, Jim McCord, of Marshall, and Cindy Marsh and husband, Brett, of rural Slater; eight grandchildren: Tara Capparelli (Guy), Rachel Gray (Eric), Sara Lawson (Del), Rebecca Barber (Daniel), Anne Thompson, Morgan Shockley (Mark), Lauren Williams (Sylwek) and Alison Johnson (Colby); 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Edie Utlaut, of Marshall; one brother, Howard Utlaut, of Florida; nieces and nephews; his special buddy, Giles Kiser; and his faithful companion, Sadie Lou.

Poodle was preceded in death by his parents, August F. Utlaut and Elizabeth Elaine Salyer Utlaut; two brothers, Marvin Utlaut and Frank Eugene Utlaut; and his sidekick, Heidi.
